52 Weeks Sanātan Dharma Course

Learn the Eternal Wisdom. Live a Wholesome Life.

Starting 5th September 2026 | Weekly Satsanga: Sundays, 2:00–3:00 PM | Online via Zoom or Recorded | £75 per month

Sanātan Dharma is not simply a religion, a philosophy, or a collection of ancient rituals. It is a profound way of understanding life, consciousness, nature, human responsibility and our relationship with the Divine.

The 52 Weeks Sanātan Dharma Course at Gurukula Sanātan Yoga is an invitation to explore this timeless wisdom and gradually bring it into everyday life.

Rather than simply studying information about Sanātan Dharma, the course encourages living the principles of Dharma through reflection, practice and Sankalpa Sādhanā.

🌿 Why Learn Sanātan Dharma?

Modern life can provide extraordinary comfort and information while leaving us feeling disconnected, restless and uncertain about our deeper purpose.

Sanātan Dharma offers a holistic vision of life.

It asks fundamental questions:

  • Who am I beyond my body and personality?

  • What is the purpose of human life?

  • What is Dharma?

  • How do Karma and its consequences shape our lives?

  • How can we live with greater awareness?

  • What is the relationship between Ātman, Prakṛti and Puruṣa?

  • How can we transform suffering into wisdom?

  • What does it mean to live a truly wholesome life?

The teachings provide principles for body, mind, relationships, society, nature and spiritual evolution.

Learning Sanātan Dharma therefore becomes more than academic study. It can become a journey towards conscious living.

🕉️ Understanding Ancient Vedic Wisdom

The roots of Sanātan Dharma reach deeply into the Vedic tradition, including the Vedas, Upaniṣads, Bhagavad Gītā, Purāṇic traditions, Yoga and the six classical Darśanas.

Throughout the course, we explore the wisdom of these traditions in a way that connects ancient teachings with contemporary life.

We will gradually explore ideas such as:

Dharma • Karma • Ātman • Brahman • Puruṣa • Prakṛti • Mokṣa • Yoga • Saṁsāra • Guṇas • Āśramas • Puruṣārthas • Kāla • Yajña • Seva • Dāna • Bhakti • Jñāna

The objective is not simply to memorise Sanskrit terminology.

It is to understand what these principles mean and how they can be lived.

🌱 Learn Sanātan Dharma to Live a Wholesome Life

Sanātan Dharma presents life as an integrated whole.

A wholesome life includes:

🧘 Body

Cultivating health, discipline and balance through appropriate lifestyle and yogic practices.

🧠 Mind

Developing awareness, discrimination, emotional balance and inner stability.

❤️ Relationships

Practising Maitrī, Karuṇā, Kṣamā, Ahimsā and other qualities that transform our relationship with others.

🌍 Society & Nature

Understanding our responsibilities towards family, society, living beings and the natural world.

🕉️ Spiritual Life

Turning inward through Svādhyāya, meditation, contemplation, Bhakti and self-inquiry.

Sanātan Dharma encourages us to discover harmony between Artha, Kāma, Dharma and Mokṣa—the four Puruṣārthas or fundamental aims of human life.

🔥 52 Weeks of Living Wisdom

This is a year-long journey, with each week providing an opportunity to contemplate and practise a particular principle.

The course explores themes from the foundations of Sanātan Dharma through to deeper philosophical and spiritual teachings.

Topics include:

  • The meaning and universality of Sanātan Dharma

  • The Vedic vision of life

  • Dharma and Karma

  • Puruṣārthas

  • Āśrama Dharma

  • Saṁskāras and sacred living

  • The Vedas and Upaniṣads

  • Bhagavad Gītā

  • Yoga and its classical paths

  • Ṣaḍ Darśana — the six systems of Indian philosophy

  • Puruṣa and Prakṛti

  • Triguṇa

  • Ātman and Brahman

  • Māyā

  • Bhakti and Śraddhā

  • Svādhyāya

  • Vairāgya and Viveka

  • Santoṣa and Śauca

  • Īśvara Praṇidhāna

  • Karma Yoga and Niṣkāma Karma

  • Seva and Dāna

  • Ahimsā, Satya and Kṣamā

  • Meditation and inner awareness

  • The nature of consciousness

  • Mokṣa and spiritual freedom

Each principle becomes an opportunity for self-observation and transformation.

🌸 Sankalpa Sādhanā — One Principle at a Time

A central feature of the course is Sankalpa Sādhanā.

Sankalpa may be understood as a conscious resolve or spiritual intention.

Instead of trying to transform everything at once, we take one principle at a time and consciously bring it into our lives.

For one week, we may contemplate:

Ahimsā — non-harming

The following week:

Maitrī — friendliness

Then:

Kṣamā — forgiveness

Santoṣa — contentment

Satya — truthfulness

Kṛtajñatā — gratitude

Vairāgya — freedom from attachment

And many other principles.

The question becomes:

How can I live this wisdom today?

Through this gradual process, philosophical knowledge can become personal experience and conscious living.

🕉️ Weekly Satsanga

Every Sunday | 2:00–3:00 PM

Via Zoom or Recorded

Each weekly Satsanga provides an opportunity to:

  • Explore a principle of Sanātan Dharma

  • Study its philosophical meaning

  • Reflect upon its relevance to modern life

  • Practise Sankalpa Sādhanā

  • Ask questions

  • Share insights

  • Develop greater self-awareness

  • Integrate the teaching into everyday life

Recordings are available, allowing students to continue their journey even when they cannot attend the live session.

🧘 Weekly Sanātan Yoga Classes

The Dharma journey is supported by Sanātan Yoga practice.

Weekly yoga classes include elements such as:

  • Hatha Yoga Kriyās and Āsanas

  • Prāṇāyāma

  • Mantra

  • Meditation

  • Yogic relaxation

  • Awareness of body, mind and Prāṇa

Yoga provides an experiential dimension to the philosophical teachings.

Dharma gives direction to life; Yoga provides practical tools for transforming our experience.

🌅 From Knowledge to Awareness

The ultimate purpose of the course is not simply to collect spiritual knowledge.

It is to move through three stages:

Śravaṇa — Hearing

We listen to and study the teachings.

Manana — Reflection

We contemplate and question what we have learned.

Nididhyāsana — Deep Contemplation

We allow the teaching to become deeply integrated into our awareness.

This gradual process can transform information into wisdom and lived experience.

🌺 Who Is This Course For?

The course is suitable for anyone who wishes to explore Sanātan Dharma more deeply, whether you are:

  • New to Sanātan Dharma

  • A yoga practitioner

  • A yoga teacher

  • Interested in Indian philosophy

  • Interested in Vedic and Upaniṣadic wisdom

  • Looking to integrate spiritual principles into daily life

You simply need curiosity, openness and a willingness to practise.

🌿 One Year. One Sankalpa. A Lifetime Transformation.

A year gives us an opportunity to slow down and look at life differently.

Week by week, we study.

Week by week, we reflect.

Week by week, we practise.

Week by week, we become more conscious of how we think, speak and act.

The journey is not about becoming someone else.

It is about discovering the deeper Self that is already within.
