6:00 – 8:00 AM | Hatha Yoga & Yoga Nidra A slow, therapeutic Hatha Yoga practice focusing on spinal health, breath–movement coordination, and gentle stimulation of the vagus nerve. The session concludes with guided Yoga Nidra to deeply calm the nervous system, reduce stress hormones, and establish parasympathetic dominance for the day. 8:30 AM | Breakfast A simple, sattvic meal supporting digestive fire (agni) and gut–brain harmony. Meals are taken mindfully, reinforcing awareness of digestion and nourishment. 9:30 – 10:30 AM | Karma Yoga Conscious selfless action practiced in silence or gentle awareness. Karma Yoga stabilises the nervous system, reduces mental agitation, and cultivates grounding, presence, and emotional regulation through purposeful movement and service. 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM | Prāṇāyāma & Deep Relaxation Therapeutic breathing practices to regulate the autonomic nervous system and enhance vagal tone. Includes slow breathing, ratio-based prāṇāyāma, and guided relaxation to support digestion, immunity, and emotional balance. Midday Rest & Integration Time for rest, reflection, journaling, nature walks, or quiet assimilation of practices. This unstructured space is essential for nervous system integration and healing. 4:30 – 6:00 PM | Yoga Therapy (Yoga Chikitsā) Applied yoga therapy sessions addressing: •Gut–brain axis regulation •Autoimmune and stress-related conditions •Trauma-sensitive movement and breath •Individual and group therapeutic sequencing Practices are supported, restorative, and adaptable to all bodies and conditions. 6:00 PM | Supper A light evening meal to support digestion, sleep quality, and nervous system down-regulation. 7:30 – 9:00 PM | Bhajans & Satsanga Evening sessions of mantra chanting, sound vibration, and contemplative dialogue. Bhajans naturally stimulate the vagus nerve through rhythm, melody, and vocalisation, while satsanga offers insight, reflection, and inner alignment.

Vagus NerveGut–Brain AxisYoga Therapy

A deeply immersive residential programme designed to restore nervous system balance, digestive intelligence, and mind–body harmony through classical Yoga, therapeutic practices, and applied yogic wisdom.

This one-week intensive is both a personal healing sādhana and a professional training, integrating modern neuroscience with time-tested yogic tools.

Why This Programme?

Chronic stress, autoimmune conditions, digestive disorders, trauma, anxiety, and burnout are all closely linked to vagal tone and gut–brain communication. Modern science now confirms what Yoga has known for millennia:

  • When prāṇa flows freely, the nervous system settles, digestion heals, and clarity returns.

  • This intensive offers a safe, structured, and embodied approach to regulating the autonomic nervous system through Yoga Chikitsā.

What You Will Experience

  • Daily therapeutic sādhana designed to stimulate and tone the vagus nerve

  • Gentle regulation of the sympathetic–parasympathetic balance

  • Restoration of digestive fire (agni) and gut intelligence

  • Emotional release and trauma-sensitive practices

  • Deep rest, clarity, and inner stability

This is not a fast-paced course—it is slow, nervous-system-aware, and deeply nourishing.

1. Vagal Theory & Autonomic Nervous System Regulation Understanding the vagus nerve through both polyvagal theory and yogic models of prāṇa. Study of sympathetic–parasympathetic balance, safety, stress response, and how yogic practices restore autonomic harmony. 2. Breath, Vagus Nerve & Prāṇāyāma Role of slow breathing, exhalation, rhythm, and pauses in vagal stimulation. Therapeutic prāṇāyāma practices for calming the mind, improving digestion, and regulating emotional states. 3. Gut–Brain Axis & Yogic Digestion Interconnection between the enteric nervous system, emotions, immunity, and mental health. Yogic understanding of agni, samāna vāyu, and apāna vāyu in digestive and emotional processing. 4. Nāḍī System & Prāṇic Flow Study of iḍā, piṅgalā, and suṣumṇā nāḍīs in relation to nervous system function. Practices to clear blockages and allow balanced prāṇa circulation without force or overstimulation. 5.
