Yoga Gurukula
A living tradition rooted in the ancient wisdom of Sanatan Dharma, an eternal way of living wholesomely, in harmony with our true nature with the goal of self-realisation (atma-jnana).
Learn, live, and experience Yoga as a way of life—through authentic teachings, disciplined practice, in amongst a conscious community.
What is a Gurukula?
In the Sanātana tradition, a Gurukula means “the family of the Guru.”
Students live, learn, and grow in close connection with the teacher, the teachings, nature, and the community.
This ancient model nurtures:
-
Character before certification
-
Experience before theory
-
Wisdom before information
Our Gurukula revives this time-tested approach, in a contemporary, inclusive, and global context, welcoming sincere seekers from all backgrounds.

Our Vision
To create a living sanctuary of Dharma and Yoga where:
-
Ancient wisdom meets modern life
-
Learning happens through practice, service, and reflection
-
Yoga is taught as a way of life, not just a physical discipline
We aim to cultivate clarity of mind, strength of body, purity of heart, and awakening of consciousness.
Our Roots: Sanātana Dharma & Classical Yoga
Our teachings are grounded in:
-
Sanātana Dharma – the eternal way of truth, harmony, and righteous living
-
Pātañjala Yoga – Yama, Niyama, Āsana, Prāṇāyāma, Dhyāna
-
Hatha Yoga – balance of prāṇa, body, and mind
-
Vedānta & Upaniṣadic wisdom – self-knowledge and inner freedom
Yoga here is not separated from ethics, lifestyle, or spirituality.
It is lived on the mat and beyond it.

Life at the Gurukula
Life in our Gurukula is simple, disciplined, and deeply nourishing.
A typical day includes:
-
Morning silence, mantra, and meditation
-
Yoga āsana, prāṇāyāma, and cleansing practices
-
Scriptural study and contemplative dialogue
-
Seva (selfless service) as a path of humility and awareness
-
Time in nature for grounding and reflection
-
Evening satsanga and inner inquiry
This rhythm supports inner balance, self-discipline, and deep learning.
Teacher–Student Relationship
In the Gurukula tradition, the teacher is not merely an instructor but a guide and living example.
Learning happens through:
-
Direct transmission
